THE Grand ENCOUNTER
BEHIND THE BAR

The new mini-series created by Grand Marnier, delving into the occasions, very often surprising an unexpected, that can happen in the bar industry. A series of episodes, each depicting the encounter of two apparently different worlds that merge into one, just like the iconic combination of cognac and bitter orange does in Grand Marnier.
Grand Marnier, a French liqueur enjoyed worldwide for 200 years, brings French flair to cocktails. The iconic Cordon Rouge bottle has become a key tool for bartenders, elevating and transforming drinks. Celebrating the product’s DNA – unexpected ingredients creating excitement – each video highlights this concept in daily life and the broader drinks community.

HUGO TOGNI

Paris + The World’ episode features Canada’s Number 1 Bar co-owner Hugo Togni, exploring what makes Grand Marnier, and Hugo, so quintessentially Parisian and the creative collisions that happen when the French capital is released into the bar world.

TAKUMA WATANABE

Classic + Modern with leading US bartender Takuma Watanabe. Takuma, Bar Owner in New York, brings his Japanese heritage to his venues in the US, and is an expert in the balance between traditional and contemporary techniques, ingredients, and practices.

DENISSEA HEAD

‘Elevated + Local’- Known for shaking things up, Deniseea discusses down-to-earth drinks and elevated ingredients. With her playful take on elevated drinks and juxtaposed pairings, such as fried chicken and champagne, Deniseea is perfectly suited to explore the subject with host Carina.

Suzette COCKTAIL

INSPIRATION

For this Margarita variation, Hugo wanted to take a very Parisian desert: the crepe Suzette, which is typically cooked in orange butter and flambéed with Grand Marnier. To emphasize the Grand Encounter, he decided to infuse the tequila with salted butter and maple syrup, bringing in the Canadian side to this typical French recipe.

Orangetini
COCKTAIL

INSPIRATION

Takuma decided to create a Martini Twist inspired by the Orangette: the dry dehydrated orange dipped in chocolate.
In this cocktail, the earl grey infused gin mixes perfectly with the Grand Marnier, providing the beautiful bone structure
of a martini.

INSPIRATION

For this Margarita variation, Deniseea likes to use ingredients you can easily find in your kitchen. As she likes to say, the inspiration for the Grand Jam is «Kitchen Purse Cocktail» – which is why she shakes it with a mini cocktail shaker she always travels with!
